 Fujimi Corporation demonstrates our commitment to environmental sustainability through ongoing programs and projects dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment, by supporting our customers' goals of sustainability, and by working with our supply chain to reinforce good environmental practices.  Our dedication to sustainability and good environmental practices are recognized through our ISO 14001 certification and our maintenance of that certification.  Fujimi is registered with the Electrical Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and aligns with the EICC Code of Conduct.

Fujimi Corporation's Environmental Policy

It is Fujimi Corporation's (Fujimi) policy to be a good corporate citizen, to protect the environment, the health and safety of every employee and in turn the public from environmental impacts of its activities and products or materials that are in its custody.

Fujimi shall establish, implement and maintain an Environmental Management System to carry out its policy and commitment to:

  • Continual improvement and prevention of pollution.
  • Compliance with applicable legal requirements and with other requirements to which Fujimi may subscribe which relates to its environmental aspects.
  • Setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets.
  • Communication to all persons working for or on behalf of the company for their health and safety and protection of the environment.

Fujimi Corporation's commitment to sustainability is more than lip service. As a good steward of the environment, Fujimi Corporation believes it has a responsibility to the future as well as the present.

Fujimi Corporation identifies opportunities to reduce waste, recycle, or reuse.  The company evaluates these opportunities and, if it is warranted, will make the necessary investments in resources and finances to accomplish them. Recycle RO Water Byproduct Utilize byproduct water from RO water production for landscape irrigation. Eliminate use of city water source for landscaping and irrigation. Tualatin Campus Air Compressors Consolidate and replace outdated and inefficient air compressors.  Eliminate cooling towers and replace with air-cooled compressors. Reduced Electrical Consumption Complete 9/4/2013 3/31/2014 Projected savings of over 500,000 kWh/year.

At Fujimi Corporation, environmental sustainability goes beyond the company’s facilities—it extends to the use and disposal of materials.

Fujimi Corporation has a number of environmentally friendly products based on waste stream improvements. Additionally, Fujimi carries a number of products that are either utilized or could be utilized in the processing of solar cells and other alternative energy solutions.

The following is a list of Fujimi’s “green” products.

Reduces waste that would otherwise be generated in the manufacturing of other materials used in your process.
GC GC, green silicon carbide, is a very high purity SiC lapping powder. Solar Power Silicon Wafer Manufacturers Used in production of solar power cells utilized in generating cleaner energy alternatives.
GLANZOX 1201   Recycled silicon wafer processing. Waste reduction and reduction of chemical treatment of waste stream.
Reduces waste that would otherwise be generated in the manufacturing of other materials used in our process.
Fujimi Sustainable Products

 

Fujimi Corporation, as part of its goal to minimize its environmental impact, continuously strives to reduce solid waste and water consumption; to improve waste water management; and to promote energy efficiency. 

We monitor the metrics presented below as part of our continuous improvement process and as part of our active internal promotion of improving our environmental sustainability and the reduction of our overall impact on the environment.

The first graph below is our "Year-Over-Year Corporate Sustainability" metrics. This metric represents our composite utilities consumption (Natural Gas, Electricity, and Water per Kilogram manufactured) and our greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 equivalent calculated Kilogram/Kilogram Manufactured). Fujimi Corporation is committed to reducing our environmental impact and has set a generalized goal of year-over-year reduction in both of our "Year-Over-Year Corporate Sustainability" metrics. Specific, measurable goals are set each year after evaluating the prior year's performance. These corporate goals will be published on the metrics chart below along with the January actual metrics each year.

The following six graphs represent our continuous monitoring of our solid waste generation, water usage, electrical usage, and natural gas usage. These values are used in our company's activities, projects, and evaluations regarding long-term sustainability and environmental impact.

Fujimi Corporation has set our goal for the calendar year of 2017 to, at a minimum, maintain our 2016 actuals. Based on our annual projections, we are expecting this to be a challenging goal. We look forward to this challenge as part of our continued effort to minimize and reduce our impact on the environment, to be good stewards of the resources we utilize, and to have a positive impact on the communities we are a part of. These goals and their associated measurements can be viewed in our "Year-Over-Year Corporate Sustainability" graph below.
